Deborah began teaching watercolor for fabric design in the year 2000, following her 30+ year career as a graphic designer, illustrator and fabric designer, teaching art and giving back to the community revealed itself as the next phase in her lifelong pursuit of the creative mission/voice. Moving from the San Francisco Bay Area, to Central Coast of California, she decided to open her own art studio, Peridot fine art and offer painting workshops and eventually ongoing classes in both watercolor and acrylic mixed media. Now 13 years into the journey, she is offering online painting instruction, and enjoying the challenges and rewards of bringing her experience and intuitive understanding of painting and people to this new form of expression.

Taking the time for our individual growth to focus and meditate on the painting process, clears the way for us to “see” more of the detail we may overlook in our everyday lives.

Join in the creative exploration where Deborah teaches you to see the nuances in color, texture, contrast, composition and technique, that will bring your paintings to a gratifying finale!

The studio began as a personal painting space for Deborah, but now is her home away from home! Her days are spent filtering through the multitude of ideas and concepts that will be her lessons for the upcoming weeks assignment, as well as for her own paintings and fabric designs. The creative process is an evolution of experience, the passage of time and the idealistic concepts that have forged our present moment.
